I did it! I am delighted to say that, back on Saturday the 1st August, I cycled into John O'Groats at the northern tip of Scotland. The tour and dream were complete having cycled 1025 miles with a total elevation gain of over 55,000 feet (over twice the height of Everest).

Overall it was an incredible experience with so many positives: It was a joy to see much more of God's creation and the beautiful country we live in; I was amazed at God's grace giving me fitness and the strength and stamina I needed each day; the organised group I was part of were a great bunch of people it was great to have their support, commaraderie and encouragement; my bike behaved and I didn't gave any major mechanical issues.

I am so grateful to so many people including yourself who showed an interest in my adventure and got behind me in words and in sponsorship too. I am overwhelmed by the amount that has been raised - far above the initial target I set. Thank you very much. This support kept me going and was a huge motivation. This is going to make a huge difference as we serve those stuck in poverty and help to bring them a brighter future. Bless you for being part of this.

I am raising money for Christians Against Poverty (CAP), the charity I work for.

CAP is a UK-based Christian charity founded in 1996 that specializes in providing free debt counseling, job clubs, life skills groups, and money coaching workshops to help individuals overcome financial difficulties and poverty. Over the last 30 years we have seen tens of thousands of people escaping the grip of poverty and finding financial freedom.

I am combining fundraising for a good cause along with a passion for bikes and cycling and a long held desire to complete the Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) adventure. I turn 60 this year and know that my strength and energy won't last forever! I also suffered a stroke 13 years ago, and although I am so grateful to God for the amazing healing he has given me up to now, I have still been left with some physical weaknesses. But I'm keen to test my endurance through this challenge and believe this is the right time to do so. I feel both excited and daunted! We will cover 1000miles in 14 days.
