Story
On May 3rd, I’ll be taking on the Great Birmingham Half Marathon, I'm pushing myself to finish in 90 minutes to raise funds and awareness for EHE Rare Cancer Charity.
My friend Paul was diagnosed with EHE (epithelioid hemangioendothelioma), a rare and aggressive cancer. Despite facing more than most of us can imagine, he continues to fight every day staying active, pushing forward, and somehow still inspiring everyone around him to be better.
Paul’s story says it all:
In 2021, he was diagnosed with EHE, an ultra-rare cancer, with over 50 tumours across his liver and lungs, some growing up to 6.4cm. Since then, he’s done everything he can to give himself the best possible chance, focusing on his health, fitness, and mindset in the face of a tough prognosis. He’s even taken on the Birmingham Half Marathon himself to raise money for the charity that’s supported him through it all.
EHE Rare Cancer Charity does incredible work supporting patients and funding vital research, but like many rare cancer charities, it remains massively underfunded.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, you’ll be helping fund research, support patients like Paul, and move us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
And if that’s not enough… just know your donation also adds a bit more pressure to help me hit that 90-minute target.
Thank you so much for your support, it genuinely means a lot.
