Story
Over the last few years as our two sons (Arnie & Gus) have started to take their own paths in life, we have encountered some unexpected twists and turns. Both sons were diagnosed at an early age as having ADHD. Together we have been on a pathway of understanding that has evolved and has enabled our boys to be the best versions of themselves, and help overcome some of the challenges of school and life.
Our youngest son is currently undergoing assessments for autism and, whilst he hasn’t received a formal diagnosis yet, the journey that we have been on over the last few years has opened up our eyes to the support network of professionals that help families like ours. Such professionals and organisations are an amazing support and provide the best opportunity to families and individuals, facing challenges like Autism, to make the most of the environment and opportunities that life can bring.
The understanding and awareness of autism is something that is maturing and is not a straightforward path. On June 29th I will be doing my first (and quite possibly my last!) ultra-challenge of a 50km hike in the peak district to raise money for Ambitious About Autism. Please join me in helping to raise awareness for Autism
