Story
On 26–27 June 2026, I’ll be joining parents, staff and friends of St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary School to cycle over 170 miles from London to Amsterdam — raising vital funds for both the school and an incredible charity, Kids for Kids, supporting families in Darfur, Sudan.
This challenge is very personal to me as my daughter has been attending St Mary Magdalen’s for the last 6 years, and I’ve seen first-hand how important the school’s environment is to the children’s learning, wellbeing and development. The funds raised will help continue the transformation of the school’s outdoor spaces — building on the brilliant work already started and creating an even better place for the children to learn and play.
At the same time, part of the money will go to Kids for Kids — a small but hugely impactful charity helping communities in Darfur that build sustainable access to food, clean water, education and healthcare. Their work genuinely changes lives.
As for the cycling… it’s fair to say this isn’t something I’ve done in a while. The last time I took on a serious physical challenge was over 10 years ago, so getting back on a bike and building up to 170 miles will be no small feat! It’s going to take legs spinning faster than windmills, a bit of determination, and probably a touch of Dutch courage to get there.
If you’re able to support, I’d be hugely grateful for any donation — no matter how small. And messages of encouragement are just as valuable; they’ll definitely help keep me pedalling over the final miles!
Thank you so much for your support.
