Thames Valley Air Ambulance is the only provider of advanced critical care within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Every day, someone in our community could be in urgent need of our service.

Story

The London Marathon (LM) has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years, more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history.

I am delighted (and scared!) to be running LM in 2026, raising money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance (TVAA).

Having only started running seriously this year, I will need every motivation to do the necessary training and preparation to successfully complete the event.

Any donation, however small, will help me on my way as well as supporting the incredible work of TVAA. They exist to give everybody within our community the best chance of surviving and recovering from an emergency. They are here for us all and our loved ones across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.

TVAA does everything in their power to protect, save and revive lives, with the best critical care at the scene and beyond.

TVAA are not government or lottery funded, so they rely on the generosity of the community – and people like you – for all their funding.

Thank you all,

Andrew
