Story
As many of you know, in 2020 I underwent major brain surgery. I will forever be in debt to my surgeon, Mario Teo, and to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, which is a major neurosurgical centre, performing 3,800 operations a year.
Brain surgery is one of the most complex and time-consuming operations a patient can have. By donating towards the pioneering digital microscope, you will transform outcomes for patients at Southmead Hospital – patients who have suffered a serious brain or spinal injury, a tumour, a stroke, or a diagnosis of life-changing conditions like cancer, dementia or other degenerative diseases.
Using International Space Station technology, the automated robotic digital microscope has image guidance and surgical planning software. This will make intricate brain operations more accurate and precise, reducing operating time so we can treat more patients. It will help to reduce the risks of complications, improve recovery time and reduce side effects following surgery.
Each and every donation will make a difference.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. It means a lot.
Love Andy. xxx
