Story
So, an update. The event has now been and gone and I managed to successfully get round the course 3 mins faster than my previous half marathon. Official Royal Parks time 2:24:02, really pleased with that.
Thanks to all those that have given so generously, really appreciated and it helped so much on the day knowing that I had such great support for such a fabulous charity.
This was my story.......
On Sunday 13th October I have committed to running another half marathon, the Royal Parks Half Marathon, around the great 4 parks in London. This time I am raising funds for GOSH, a charity very close to my Heart – quite literally.
I was born with a small heart murmur so for the first 16 years of my life I was under the care and watch of the Professionals at GOSH, until the age of 16 when I was transferred to an Adult hospital for my regular check-ups.
I don’t remember much about the early years but certainly in my teenage years I actually used to look forward to my jaunts up to GOSH, the Professionals certainly made the experience much more fun and pleasurable. Unfortunately a great many babies, children and teenagers are not so fortunate as I was and they have to endure so much more, but the care and attention they receive will, if my experience is anything to go by, be second to none and greatly assist in recovery. If you are able to spare a small donation, it will be much appreciated and by sponsoring me, you’re helping to give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.
I am also using this half marathon as a training run for a bigger event on 27th April next year, as I have been fortunate enough to gain a place from the ballot for the 2025 London Marathon, so the hard training begins…Gulp.
Thank you so much for reading my page and for any donation you may be able to give.
