Story
on May 31 2026, in the early hours of the morning, my daughter Chloe and I will be taking part in a once in a lifetime challenge. We will be trekking the Llanberis Path through the night, to reach the summit of Snowdon for sunrise. With the moon and stars as a backdrop and with headtorches to light the way, it may be tough, but we're going to do it.
We are raising money for PKD Charity. Since 2000, they’ve been a driving force behind research into polycystic kidney disease, a hereditary condition that has impacted our family, generation after generation.
My husband Mark has suffered with this disease until I was lucky enough to be able to donate a kidney to him back in 2010 and were thrilled that more than 15 years later, its still going strong.
However this was only possible after establishing that both our 2 daughters had not actually inherited the condition themselves, as there is a 50:50 chance of passing this condition on. The genetic testing that was carried out was provided with research funds, they also provide vital support groups and resources, ensuring that no one has to face PKD alone.
This is just a small way for our family to say a big Thankyou ♥️
Your support means more than you know. Thank you for helping make a difference.
