Story
Two Challenges. 14,000+ Meters of Ascent. One Mission: To make every moment matter.
This summer, a team from Airbus is pushing beyond our limits. We aren't just climbing one mountain; we are embarking on a dual-continent odyssey to support two lifelines in our community: Hope House Children’s Hospice and the Wales Air Ambulance.
📍 Challenge 1: The Snowdon Six (June 20th, 2026)
Before we head to Africa, we face our "training" peak—but this is no ordinary hike. We will attempt to summit Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) three times in under 18 hours, traversing all six historic footpaths (Watkin, Rangers, Rhyd Ddu, Miners, Pyg, and Llanberis).
The Stats: 41km distance | 2,800m (9,240ft) elevation gain | 18-hour time limit.
The Goal: To test our grit and begin the final countdown to Tanzania.
📍 Challenge 2: Kilimanjaro – The Machame Route (July 20th, 2026)
Exactly one month later, we depart for Tanzania. Over seven grueling days, we will trek the Machame Route, battling altitude, extreme temperatures, and exhaustion to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895m). From the lush rainforests to the Arctic-like glaciers of the peak, every step is a step toward our £20,000 goal.
Why We Are Climbing
We are raising funds for two incredible charities that provide hope when it is needed most:
Hope House Children's Hospice: They provide vital end-of-life care and support for children and families. They believe that no family should face the death of a child alone, and they strive to give these families "Quality Moments that Matter."
Wales Air Ambulance: A literal lifeline. This "flying ED" brings advanced medical care directly to the patient, saving time and saving lives across the rugged landscape of Wales—the very terrain we’ll be training on.
⚡ THE POWER OF TWO: Double Your Impact!
We have a massive target of £20,000, but here is the incredible part: Every £1 you donate will be DOUBLED. Thanks to generous match-funding pledges, your £10 becomes £20. Your £50 becomes £100. This is a rare opportunity to see your generosity go twice as far for local children and emergency lifesaving services.
Please, give what you can. Whether it’s the cost of a coffee or a larger sponsorship, your support is the fuel that will get us up those mountains.
Thank you from the Airbus Team.
The Snowdon Six Route Breakdown:
