Story
On 13 September, I’ll be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge — a 24-mile hike across Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. After 4 years I am leaving my role as an extended role Radiographer - Sonographer at Hull Women's and Children's Hospital and becoming a Lecturer at the University of Leeds. As a leaving gift, I kindly ask everyone to please donate to raise vital funds for the bereavement service facilities and the early pregnancy service at Hull.
Their support to families who have experienced the loss of a baby and assistance with myself in diagnosing and delivering the devastating news no parent wishes to hear is invaluable and incredible. I am so grateful and proud to have been part of such a special service and team.
Baby loss is a tragedy that no parent should ever have to endure, yet heartbreakingly, it affects so many. In the midst of their grief, families need compassion, care, and specialist support and that’s exactly what bereavement services provide. They offer a safe space, a listening ear, and guidance through one of the most difficult times imaginable.
By taking on this challenge, I hope to raise both awareness and funds to help improve and expand these crucial facilities. Whether it’s a private room to say goodbye, counseling services, or simply a quiet space to grieve, these resources make a real difference in helping families find some comfort in the midst of loss.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting me and helping to make a difference to my local Hospital.
