Story

The challenge.

At the end of this month I will be flying to Tanzania to attempt to conquer Kilimanjaro by the Machame route. I will be on the mountain for 7 days. Enduring severe heat at the base and -20 degrees centigrade temperatures at the summit, altitude sickness, with less than 50% of the oxygen at sea level and tropical diseases.

I hope to summit on the 28th of July.

I am doing this in aid of the Walton Centre Charity. I am doing this as I owe the Walton Centre a lot, after they treated me for a brain hemorrhage in 2015 and subsequent observation and treatment. I am funding the trip myself so 100% of donations will go to the charity.

Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in north-eastern Tanzania and the highest mountain in Africa, reaching an elevation of 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world

The Walton Centre treats more than 145,000 patients each year and is the only specialist NHS hospital trust in the UK, dedicated to providing pioneering treatments for conditions affecting the brain, spine, nervous system, and the management of pain conditions.

The Walton Centre Charity

The Walton Centre Charity is the only dedicated charity that supports patients and their families, research and staff wellbeing at The Walton Centre in Liverpool.

My request to you.

I ask if you can make a donation to help this great charity to assist patients with neurological problems and to help their families.

I know that money is tight and we cannot donate to every charity request by all donations no mater how big or small we be appreciated greatly.
