Story

Hi, We’re Ashridge Park Royal’s U11’s and along with our amazing coaches are trying to raise awareness of epilepsy in sport, particularly football.

After hearing that our team mate Cash who has suffered with uncontrolled epilepsy for the last 5 years, wasn’t allowed to attend a local football camp with Reading FC community trust with his friends because he has epilepsy, we knew we had to come together to raise more awareness and help him him with his continued fundraising efforts. Let’s be honest, With Cash’s passion and dedication on the pitch you’d never know he was an epilepsy sufferer and children like him deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.

For the last few years we have held Kick 4 A Cause matches challenging local teams to matches and a sudden death penalty shoot out to spread the important message that FOOTBALL IS FOR ALL!

This year we continue our mission and are hoping to raise some funds for the wonderful charity Young Epilepsy. Young Epilepsy have provided vital support for Cash and helped him raise awareness of the discrimination he faced. During the Easter holidays several players from the Royals were lucky enough to attend an all inclusive football camp being held by Young Epilepsy along with ex England player Jay Bothroyd who suffers with epilepsy himself. Sky sports news were there to capture the event and interview Cash himself, so be sure to click the link below to see what an incredible event the Royals were lucky to be part of! We thank Jay for sharing his story and helping to support Cash and the thousands of children that suffer with epilepsy in the UK.

Cash has raised a phenomenal amount of money for epilepsy charities over the years added to by our matches. Last year thanks to our charity match we were able to fund a vital epilepsy sleep monitor for another child. This year we’d love to raise even a small amount for Young Epilepsy to show our thanks and appreciation for all of their hard work.

Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions a young person can experience. Any donations we receive will help Young Epilepsy to improve research, treatment and practical support for children like Cash.

Your contributions and sponsorships will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps and we Thankyou in advance for any sponsorships the teams playing this years Kick 4 A Cause match will receive.
