Story

9 year old Arthur is fierce, determined, a lover of animals, the great outdoors and is a formula 1 and Top Gear fanatic. He also lives with low grade brain tumours since he was diagnosed just before his third birthday and the effects they have on his day to day life, including having endured countless medical procedures, two brain surgeries, chemotherapy and having been left with weakness on the right side of his body.

Happily Arthur's condition is currently stable thanks to an investigational medication that targets a genetic mutation in his tumour cells.

Arthur has set himself the challenge to climb British peaks that total the height of Mount Everest over the course of 2024 - a whopping 8,849 metres!

Arthur is doing this in support of The Brain Tumour Charity's Everest Centre, a research centre dedicated to low grade childhood brain tumours. Through partnerships with renowned institutions and organisations worldwide, The Everest Centre ensures that knowledge, expertise and resources are shared to accelerate progress and improve the outcomes for children. The research carried out by The Everest Centre aims to propel our understanding and improve treatment for low grade brain tumours in children, which can often cause severe long-term health problems and in some cases can be fatal.

Thank you so much for your support and following along with Arthur as he racks up the metres! You can also follow along on Instagram @arthurseverest
