Story
In November 2026, along with 34 other bereaved & medical parents, also supported of Derian House Children's Hospice I will be trekking 30 miles across the beautiful sandunes of the Sahara Desert & camping under the stats with probably snakes - scorpions 😉
My reason why?
For the past 3 years I have been attending the hospice following the birt of my daughter Georgia. Georgia was born with very complex anatomy such as chronic kidney disease, cloaca, imperferated anus, incontinence both ways & she has caudal regression syndrome (the bottom 2 vertabraes missing). None of this was picked up in any scans, so came as shock to us.
Georgia has undergone 7 surgeries since she was born & still she demonstrated her sassiness on a daily basis, fighting to be like her brothers & peers.
The hospice has been our life line, for me personally they have helped guide me through trauma & created a safe space to open up. I have been able to meet some incredible friends, who literally are like family. This family are my other reason to WHY!
For the fight they conquor every day, for the siblings that are pushed to one side at times because medical needs takes president & finally, to ensure we can help this charity continue to support families like ours.
This challenge is nothing compared to what our babies go through.
For Georgia, Grayson, Jaxon, Mila-boo, Riziah, Daniel, Eadie & Tommy.
And for my gang - Hannah, Naomi & Lucie - you get me through my days & I am forever grateful for Derian House bringing us together.
Now just preparation for walking up hill on sand & worrying about the dunnie situation. 😂 💩
Please donate as much or as little as possible& if you can't please share my story far & wide 🙏
Thank you
Love Ash 🏜️🥵
