Story
Like countless families worldwide, ours has been deeply impacted by Alzheimer's disease. Seven years ago, my mum, Irene, received the devastating diagnosis. Despite her resilience and determination, the disease gradually robbed her of cherished memories and, most recently, her independence, leading to make the heart-wrenching decision of placing her in a care home for her own safety.
Alzheimer's doesn't just affect the individual diagnosed; it ripples through entire families and friends, indiscriminately stealing precious moments and dreams. Mum should be relishing life's adventures, like the skydive she was keen to do - something we will never get to fulfill together.
In honor of mum's spirit and for all those bravely battling this cruel disease, myself and my good friend Tracey have embarked on an "excellent journey" of our own. On August 3rd, we'll be taking to the skies in a skydive to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.
We invite you to join us in making memories and supporting a cause close to our hearts. Your donation, no matter the size, will contribute to vital research and support services, bringing us one step closer to finding a cure.
Please consider donating and sharing this journey with us. Every contribution is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your generosity and support
. Please note now taking place 6 Oct.
