Forget me not Freefallers - Auds and Tracey’s ‘excellent’ adventure for Alzheimer’s Society

Raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Skydive Day August 2024 · 3 August 2024 to 4 August 2024 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

*our new date for our jump is now Sunday 6th October*

Like countless families worldwide, have been deeply impacted by Alzheimer's disease. Seven years ago, Audrey's mum, Irene, received the devastating diagnosis. Despite her resilience and determination, the disease gradually robbed her of cherished memories and, most recently, her independence, leading Audrey and her family to make the heart-wrenching decision of placing her in a care home for her own safety.

Alzheimer's doesn't just affect the individual diagnosed; it ripples through entire families and friends, indiscriminately stealing precious moments and dreams. Irene, or Mum as we affectionately call her, should be relishing life's adventures, like the skydive she had mentioned on occasion – one of the dreams that Audrey and her mum never got to fulfill together.

In honor of Irene's aka Mum's spirit and for all those bravely battling this cruel disease, we've embarked on an "excellent journey" of our own. On August 3rd, we'll be taking to the skies in a skydive to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

We invite you to join us in making memories and supporting a cause close to our hearts. Your donation, no matter the size, will contribute to vital research and support services, bringing us one step closer to finding a cure.

Please consider donating and sharing this journey with us. Every contribution is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
