Still canna believe it🙃... I'm managed to secure a place to run the 2027 London Marathon!!!🏃🏼‍♀️🧡

After running my latest half marathon I hit a block an decided I'd focus on weightlifting and toning myself up cos I wisna really enjoying running as much. But then I got confirmation that I'm in!!! A once in a lifetime opportunity, so I'd be daft to throw it away because I'd rather trade running for weights. If you've followed my running journey over the last twartree years, you’ll know just how much this means to me. A few year ago I could barely run 40 metres without feeling my chest was caving in, and now I’ll be taking on 26.2 miles through the heat of London to raise funds and awareness for a charity super close to home. My motivation is the fact that I GET to run, whether it be a marathon, or a couple meters - people with muscular dystrophy cannot, so I am doing it for them. Most specifically, I am doing it for peerie Phoebe 🧡

The more awareness that is spread about Muscular Dystrophy the better! Phoebe was just five years old when she was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD), a rare, progressive muscle-wasting condition that gradually weakens muscles and affects everyday life, most specifically things we all take for granted. Peerie things such as smiling, walking, and waking up with minimal pain. At the moment, THERE IS NO CURE and we can absolutely do better at making this a known fact.

Despite everything she faces daily, Phoebe continues to inspire everyone around her. She is bright, kind, funny and incredibly brave. Her strength and determination is something I really really admire, and she's the reason this marathon is gonna be attempted.

I have been given the privilege of running the London Marathon and will be doing so as part of Team Muscular Dystrophy UK, 80% of the funds raised within Phenomenal Phoebe will automatically go to the charity, providing support to families affected by muscular dystrophy and funding vital research with hopefully one day finding a cure. Whilst 20% will go directly to Phoebes trust fund, investing in her future and helping ensure that FSHD never defines what she is capable of achieving.
