Story
Our Mother devoted a great deal of her life helping others; throughout her long career in teaching, then later her voluntary work, and of course for her beloved family and many dear friends. We have taken a great deal of comfort and pride in the messages from so many people, by whom she is fondly remembered for making a positive impact to their lives, whether large or small, recently or many years ago.
Mum lived with Type 1 Diabetes for more than 47 years, during which time the science and technology behind supporting people with this condition changed dramatically; from boiling reusable glass syringes in a saucepan to sterilise them, all the way to wireless devices enhanced by artificial intelligences. Mum saw it all and Diabetes UK (formerly the British Diabetic Association), contributed greatly to those, and many other positive changes, around helping people with Diabetes.
We hope that you will consider supporting Diabetes UK as one of the two very worthy causes close to mums heart, is an appropriate way to honour both her memory and lasting legacy of love and care.
Thank you,
Carole, Michele & Stuart
