Just under a quarter of children in Renfrewshire are living in poverty. The nature of poverty is now changing, with poverty rising amongst the young and those in work. Two thirds of children living in poverty are living in a household where at least one person is working.
Many families and individuals in Paisley North West face poverty and disadvantage resulting in:
• Poorer life chances
• Ill health
• Social and familial tension
• Low aspiration
The statistics paint a very bleak picture of need, deprivation and vulnerability in our community but our success is to be found in our unique approach, not just meeting the needs of the community…but meeting them in their need.
