Baldies 1st Half Marathon

Chloe Smith is raising money for Alopecia UK

Torbay Half Marathon · 20 September 2026

Alopecia UK is a national charity providing support, community and education to improve the lives of those affected by alopecia. The charity relies on individual fundraisers and donors to continue its work. Alopecia UK receives no government or statutory funding.

Story

In 2018 I was diagnosed with Alopecia. Since then I’ve experienced several flare-ups, and I’m currently going through my second time of total hair loss, including losing my eyebrows. While alopecia is often seen as just hair loss, the emotional and personal impact can be much deeper.

This September I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet , running my first half marathon.

Running has become my way of turning something difficult into something meaningful. By sharing my journey and pushing myself to complete 13.1 miles, I hope to raise awareness of alopecia and support others who may be facing similar struggles.

If you’re able to donate, share my page, or simply support along the way, it would mean so much. Every bit of encouragement will help carry me through the miles.
