Story

Bristol City staff will be taking to the Brecon Beacons in May in support of Children’s Hospice South West.

Liam Manning and members of his backroom staff will be taking part in the ‘10 y Fan’ challenge which sees participants climb Pen Y Fan up to 10 times in 24 hours.

Pen Y Fan stands at 2,907 ft and is the highest peak in South Wales and at 6pm on Saturday, May 11th – 10 City staff members will start the challenge which finishes 24 hours later.

All proceeds from the sponsored challenge will go to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Charlton Farm, which provides the highest level of care, clinical expertise and enrichment opportunities for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Since 2016, City have had a relationship with CHSW, with regular visits from the squad to Charlton Farm and various fundraising events over the years including the 1894 challenge of 2020, which saw more than £2,000 raised for the Charity.

Head Coach Liam Manning said: “After visiting Charlton Farm in December as part of our Christmas visit, so many of the staff and players were touched by what a special place Charlton Farm is.

We knew immediately we wanted to do something to raise help and the 10 y fan challenge is just one small way we can raise funds and raise awareness for the charity.”
