Story
It's that time of year again. Dark mornings and long nights, the stresses of the festive period; for many this time of year is tough and sometimes just getting out of bed to face the day can feel like climbing a mountain. When it all starts to feel overwhelming, sometimes you just need to take one step at a time.
So for this year's Bourne Deeping Hockey Club charity fundraiser, we thought we'd do exactly that... climb that mountain, one step (or jump) at a time.
We plan on 'climbing' the height of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in the form of box jumps.
The box in the gym is 45cm high, Ben Nevis is 1345 Metres high..... that's roughly 3000 box jumps we aim to complete between us in one session at Bourne Leisure Centre on Sunday January 4th.
So why oh why are we doing this? Because we're hoping our efforts will encourage you to donate to this wonderful local charity who do so much to support people in their times of need. Whether that's by providing free counselling sessions, or just a friendly face at their community garden or Night Light cafe.
At some point we all face difficult times in our lives, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, addiction; Don't Lose Hope make sure there is always somebody there to remind us all that there is always hope. Please take a look at their website for a better look at what they do:
