We give hope, opportunities & choices to those impacted by eating disorders

Story

First Steps ED is an award-winning and quality-assured eating disorder charity working in areas throughout England to offer care and support to adults, children and young people. The team is on hand to provide coping strategies and recovery services to individuals and families of all ages, genders and backgrounds.

Our founding principles are built up from experts from experience, offering a service that helps those living with an eating disorder and their families, as well as break down the stigma around eating disorders.

Team Be More Pacific are a team of 4 who will be rowing 2,800 miles across the Mid Pacific Ocean in June 2025.

This is as part of the World's Toughest Row. We will row in shifts with at least 2 people powering our boat (Lady Jayne) 24/7!

We have chosen to row for First Steps and Talk-ED, as eating disorders are severe and dangerous mental conditions with 1 person dying as a result of an ED every 52 minutes.

1.25 Million people in the UK have an eating disorder, the effects of which are also felt by family, friends and supporters of those living with an Eating disorder (ED)! First steps and Talk-ED provide a vital service of help and support to both patients and their friends and family throughout their recovery and beyond. With the help provided by the likes of First Steps 46% of people will fully recover from Anorexia Nervosa (the biggest killer within mental health disorders.)

Please help to raise money to keep these services open and available and help end this endemic of eating disorders!
