Hello, we are so glad you are here! This is our first fundraiser for Cure DM, a charity very close to our hearts. We are a family in Wigan and both mum, Becky and little boy, Toby are living with Myotonic Dystrophy.

To launch our first fundraiser for Cure DM as part of Team Toby Brad is GOING GREEN! Brad will be dyeing his hair BRIGHT GREEN in an effort to raise awareness of Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1, which both myself and our son Toby have recently been diagnosed. The fundraiser is to coincide with International DM day on September 15th. This awareness day was set up by Cure DM in which everyone is urged to GO GREEN to share awareness!

Toby was diagnosed with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 3 weeks after he was born while still in Wigan Hospital Neonatal Unit. A few months later Toby's mum, Becky, was diagnosed with the same condition. Myotonic Dystrophy is a genetic condition that had been undetected in my family until the birth of Toby. It is a neuromuscular condition that effects the central nervous system and can have a range of symptoms which change and develop over the years. We are still very much in the early days of our diagnosis but Cure DM have been a great sense of comfort and support during the most turbulent time in our life. We feel like now is the right time for us to give back and hopefully help fund vital research and support for the individuals and families living with this DM.

Cure DM is an amazing charity supporting families living with this condition. They raise funds for integral research, family fun days, family and peer support and to help raise awareness to the wider public and healthcare professionals. We are hoping to fundraise raise as much awareness as we can during our first fundraising campaign for Cure DM.
