Belinda Neild is raising money for Moya Cole Hospice
In memory of Mum and Dad ❤️

Castle To Castle 100 Mile Ultra Marathon · 4 July 2026

Moya Cole Hospice is a charity which cares for thousands of local people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses every year.

Story

Your amazing support enables Moya Cole Hospice to provide care to people and their families living with a life-limiting illness in the Greater Manchester community.

Where It Began ❤️ Why I Run

Since losing my mum, running has been my way of healing and fighting back. This journey started in grief, turned into purpose. Christmas brought a heartbreak I never expected when I lost my dad. Life looks different now without both my parents, but I’ve kept going the only way I know how. Dad always backed Moya Cole after they cared for Mum, which makes this year’s challenge deeply personal for me.

Every mile holds her memory, and every fundraiser pushes forward in honour of those family members and friends I’ve lost.

🏰 Castle to Castle: 100 Miles of Heart, Grit, and Legacy 💫

This year’s challenge will be the toughest I’ve faced yet: the Castle to Castle 100-Miler, running from Bamburgh in Northumberland to the heart of Edinburgh. The route hugs the stunning east coast, weaving through Berwickshire, the Borders, and East Lothian before reaching its dramatic conclusion at the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens.

I’m running in honour of the incredible souls I’ve losed. My Mum and Dad my father-in-law, beloved aunts, uncles, grandparents, and close friends. Too many goodbyes to cancer turned my grief into purpose, and my purpose into motion. Running became my outlet, my tribute, my way of making sense of the loss. I’m fundraising for Moya Cole Hospice, whose compassionate care made all the difference in my mum’s final days. If just one patient smiles because of the support we raise, then every mile will be worth it.

My Dad was my biggest supporter and this run means so much to me. As hard as it’s going to be I need to finish what I’ve started. Since losing my mum in 2011, followed and my father-in-law and other cherished family members, I’ve challenged myself with ever greater goals, triple marathons, ultra-endurance runs in full costume, and the unforgiving 50-mile Yorkshire Peaks ultra with a staggering 2,593m of ascent in brutal conditions. Most recently, I conquered The Wall with my husband, 70 miles across the length of Hadrian’s Wall.

Now, we take on the next chapter. Training will be tough, especially balancing it with teaching, but I know I’ll have the unwavering support of the Rat Race team, my incredible family, friends, and colleagues.

Our mission is a family affair. My husband Stephen will be taking on the challenge and we will be running the Manchester Great Run. London Marathon will be part of my training a few weeks ahead of Castle to Castle. In May together as a family, we’ll be running Manchester Great Run with my signature spirit—Belinda Bee, buzzing with hope and strength to raise more funds for the hospice.

In November 2025 to kick start the fundraising I will be organising a Community 10 Mile Charity Walk. Bringing people together and getting active to raise funds for the hospice. 💪🏻

Your support over the years has meant more than words can express. Because of you, St Ann’s Hospice continues to provide outstanding, free care to families facing life-limiting illness across Greater Manchester—from their three sites and right inside people’s homes. Every donation, every cheer, every word of encouragement fuels our journey.

This journey is personal. Loosing so many family members makes supporting this charity more important than ever.

I run for those we’ve lost, I run for those still fighting, I run for hope. I run because cancer doesn’t get the last word.

Next Year: 50 + 50 = 100

And now, as I approach my 50th birthday, the next goal is set: 100 miles. Castle to Castle July 2026

Your support means the world.

This isn’t just a run. It’s a promise.

For my mum and dad. For my family. For everyone who’s been touched by cancer. Team Neild, let’s do this 💪🏻 Thankyou so much for your continued support ❤️ Means the world 🌍 #teamneild
