Story
Hi, I’m a 17-year-old equestrian who has been riding for as long as I can remember. My background is mainly in showjumping and eventing, but two years ago I decided to take on a new challenge and try horseball—and I haven’t looked back since!
For those who haven’t heard of it, horseball is a fast-paced team sport played on horseback, combining elements of rugby, basketball, and polo. Teams compete to score goals while passing a ball between players, making it an exciting test of horsemanship, teamwork, and athleticism.
Since starting horseball, I have been incredibly fortunate to be selected to represent Team GBR three times as an Under-16 rider, all on my amazing 14.2hh Connemara cross pony, who I have completely produced myself. This year is set to be my most exciting yet—not only have I been given the incredible opportunity to compete in the BHS Newbury Charity Race, but I have also been selected to represent Team GBR for the fourth time, this time in the Under-21 category, making me the youngest player selected to compete at this level. Later this year, I will be travelling to France to represent Great Britain on the international stage.
Alongside my competitive goals, I am currently training to become a BHS Level 2 Coach—something I have dreamed of since I first started riding. Being able to inspire and support other riders would be a huge achievement for me.
I am incredibly excited to be taking part in the BHS Newbury Charity Race and am aiming to raise £3,500 for the British Horse Society. The BHS is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of horses and the people who love them. They work tirelessly to promote horse welfare, support riders and owners through education and training, improve access to riding and bridleways, and campaign to keep horses safe across the UK. Their work makes a real difference to the equestrian community, and I am proud to be supporting such an important cause.
With your help, we can raise vital funds so that the BHS can continue the amazing work they do.
If you’d like to follow my journey to the race, you can find me on TikTok and Instagram: @bb.horseball. I’ll be sharing my training, preparation, and race-day experience along the way!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I really hope you can support me by making a donation—every penny truly counts and will help make a difference.
Thank you for your support!
