CRELD1 Warriors aims to relieve the needs of children with CRELD1 gene sequence variation and related disorders and their families through support, raising awareness and raising funds for medical research.

Story

I am taking part in the London to Brighton cycle ride to raise funds for CRELD1 Warriors - a charity close to my heart that was founded by my brother Adam, and sister-in-law Jess.

CRELD1 is a rare genetic disorder that manifests as a wide range of neurodevelopmental disorders including, but not limited to, cognitive delays, neural hearing loss, immature eye development and frequent, treatment resistant seizures.

CRELD1 Warriors mission is to provide support for families caring for a child with CRELD1 gene mutations, to raise awareness of this extremely rare disease and to support vital medical research to help find an effective treatment.

My driving force will be Alfie, my nephew diagnosed with CRELD1 and Lola, my late niece who sadly lost her life to CRELD1 in 2021 but became the first diagnosis in the UK, leaving behind a legacy for other young children suffering from this rare genetic disorder.
