Starting on March 29th, the inspiration for the trek came from my cousin Tom who had dreamed of completing this challenge before sadly passing away with Sudden Death Syndrome 3 days before his 40th birthday. I am undertaking this challenge in his memory and to raise funds for 2 charities and am hoping to raise equal amounts for both:1) The British Heart Foundation; and 2) Orchard Vale Trust ("OVT") (Registered Charity No.326940). OVT was set up in 1986 and provides tailored accommodation and support to adults with a broad range of learning difficulties. OVT is seeking funds to buy 4 defibrillators (one for each care home), help retrain staff to manage changing resident needs as they age and help maintain facilities.
