Story
On 10 May, two stalwarts of the Rugby League community, Danny Maun and Danny Thomas, will take to the streets for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon. Having spent their careers facing tough opponents on the pitch, they are now teaming up to tackle 26.2 miles in honour of a legend and for a cause that sits at the very heart of the sport.
The duo is running to raise vital funds for the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. This incredible charity provides lifelong support to players who have suffered life-changing injuries while playing the game we love. From specialist equipment and home adaptations to essential physiotherapy and emotional support, the Fund ensures that no member of the Rugby League family has to face their darkest days alone.
Rob Burrow’s legacy is one of courage, mate-ship, and unwavering spirit. By taking part in this marathon, Danny and Danny aim to embody those same values, ensuring that the safety net for future players remains strong. Every pound donated goes directly towards improving the quality of life for those who have given so much to the game.
Please consider donating to support the lads as they swap their boots for running shoes. Your generosity will provide a lifeline to players and their families when they need it most. Thank you for your support.
