Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi Everyone,

As I expect most of you will know, our brother, Brendan ‘Benny’ Kane, died in very tragic circumstances in Australia on 10th March 2024.

Brendan was just 31 years old and had worked his way up from a raw recruit into a site manager for Glendun Group in Australia. He was a kind, fun-loving character, always with a smile on his face. Everyone enjoyed Brendan’s company and the hundreds of people who attended the service in Sydney, the wake at his family home and his funeral in Cushendall were testament to how well thought of he was and how much he will be missed.

As a family and community, as we slowly begin to come to terms with his loss, by setting up this JustGiving fundraising facility, we wish to acknowledge the crucial role that the The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT) played in getting Brendan back home to us – the highly professional way in which they helped the family navigate the repatriation process was of tremendous help at the time and we wish, in some small way, to acknowledge them for this. So any donation, big or small will be welcomed. As a simple illustration of the KBRT approach, when we first made contact with them, their immediate response was, “We will bring Brendan home” – and, as you can imagine, that was of immediate comfort and relief to the family having just received such devastating news.

Thank you in advance,

Michael and Maria
