Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

I have a few regrets in life. There was my unsuccessful spell as a Burlesque dancer and the fiasco that was my business providing range extending tow-along batteries for Sinclair C5s. However, there was also my failure to run the Manchester Marathon in 2022 in memory of my friend Chris. I am fixing that now. Chris died of heart problems the year before. Fuelled by Guinness at his wake, I had agreed to run the marathon with his daughter and a friend but then chickened out.

I've never run a marathon before so I am very nervous. My aim is to complete the event without having to hitch a lift on the truck that clears away the barriers and cones.

In 2022 the aim was to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support to continue with this.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like you that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target.

Thanks!
