Welcome to my Just Giving page.

I have signed up to take part in The Great North Run in September 2024 and also the Leeds Half Maratbon, in May. Baring in mind I have never run a distance this far before, which is going to be a new challenge for me.

I have decided to do raise money for Worldwide Cancer Research, as cancer is very close to my heart and my families heart. When choosing a charity I decided to chose this one as two family members have battled cancer.

My grandad has battled prostate cancer, which was managed to be beaten and is thankfully still with us which I am great full for everyday.

Unfortunately, my grandma who had pancreatic cancer, lost their battle and they are missed everyday.

Cancer affects every single one of us in one way or another and worldwide cancer research funds research into different trials on different cancers.

The research you help us fund has led to some incredible advances in how we prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Since 1979, we have invested £200 million in 2,000 research projects in 35 countries around the world.Thanks to research like ours, cancer survival rates have doubled in the UK since the 1970s.

One in two people diagnosed with cancer can now expect to survive for 10 years or more after their diagnosis. But we are nowhere near done. In 2020, it was estimated that around the world 19.3 million people were diagnosed and 9.9 million people died from cancer. And with cancer set to become the worlds biggest killer by 2030, research is needed more than ever.
