Story
On 5th–6th June 2026, I’ll be taking on a slightly questionable life decision: the Toy Trust’s 24-hour London to Paris cycle challenge.
Basically, along with 9 other brave volunteers, I’ll be cycling from London all the way down to Newhaven, hopping on an overnight ferry to Dieppe, and then somehow continuing on to Paris the next day… all within 24 hours. Yes, that does mean very little sleep, a lot of pedalling, and probably some serious leg regret.
I decided to take on this challenge because I enjoy pushing myself and stepping out of my comfort zone to see how far I can go, both mentally and physically. I’m not a professional cyclist (far from it), and I haven’t exactly clocked up loads of kilometres, but I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got. After all, it’s mostly a mental game… right?
This might be a tough ride (understatement of the year), but I’m committed to finishing it no matter what. Best case, I discover a new passion for cycling. Worst case, I never want to see a bike again. Either way… we’ll find out.
Working at Bandai Namco Amusement Europe, I’m surrounded by toys and anime figures every day, so supporting a charity that helps children through the power of play feels like a perfect fit, and a great reason to keep pedalling when it gets tough.
