A unique challenge of stamina and skill, Race 4 Safety is your opportunity to make a real difference to the women and children who are fleeing domestic abuse – often with nothing but the clothes on their back.

Story

A group of Bird & Bird colleagues will be taking on Hestia's Race 4 Safety Challenge on Saturday 10 May 2025, to raise money for survivors of domestic abuse, with a collective fundraising target of £5000.

PARTICIPANTS:

Aimee Cooke, Aimee Machnicki, Ciara Huges, Emma Kemp, Hawwa Bakht-Noor, Jessica Morgan, Karen Ayodele, Lara Machnicki, Lucian Burcea, Lucy Skelton, Maddie Blackie, Martin Rowley, Renee Ujah.

Hestia’s Race for 4 Safety Challenge is an event inspired by the courage of people fleeing domestic violence. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetimes. Getting to safety as quickly as possible is crucial.

Fleeing is a time of high risk for survivors and their children, so we must act fast to help them reach a domestic abuse refuge. From there they can begin their journey of healing and recovery.
