TEAM TOBY is a 'CureDM Together Campaign' run by the Cartwright family in Wigan. The aim is to use their experience to help raise awareness of Myotonic Dystrophy, as well as funds for support and research.

Bloom Toddler Class are hosting a Summer Fundraiser to raise money for Team Toby.

💚Toby lives with an incurable, progressive and rare genetic condition: Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1.

💚DM1 is a neuromuscular condition than can affect a number of different things including, heart problems, cataracts and myotonia.

💚DM1 has no cure... Yet.

💚 Toby's family are tirelessly fundraising to raise both awareness and funds for vital research into the illness.

💚 If you've had the pleasure of meeting Toby, I'm sure you'll feel the same way as me, his ferocious love for life, beaming smile & an absolute refusal to be defined by his condition will have captured your heart.

Toby was diagnosed with CDM at 3 weeks old, subsequently mum Becky was diagnosed with DM1.

Toby is the happiest little boy who faces every challenge in his own way, with his adorable smile and a cheeky laugh. He is not defined by his condition and instead makes his own rules and way in life.

The family is working hard to raise funds and awareness for this condition and this page is a record of fundraisers and achievements.
