At Bank of America, we are proud to fundraise for our charity partner, Bookmark Reading Charity.

Literacy is critical for young people’s development and removing barriers to employment, with illiterate people earning 30-42% less than their literate counterparts.

Currently more than 1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to read well, meaning they are more likely to experience unemployment, poor mental health and even a shorter life expectancy.

Bookmark works to improve children’s literacy by promoting a reading for pleasure culture in primary schools, with a focus on supporting children in the most disadvantaged communities.

Our fundraising will help Bookmark tackle the national literacy crisis, ensuring more children experience the joy of reading and have a fairer start in life.
