Story
Hello,
On 26 of April 2026, I’m running the London Marathon for Crohn's and Colitis UK.
1 in 123 people in the UK live with Crohn’s or Colitis — including me.
I’ve had Ulcerative Colitis since 2011. Invisible from the outside, on the inside my bowel isn't having a wonderful time. When the disease is active, my bowel gets super angry, inflamed and ulcerated, meaning many manyyyy urgent trips to the toilet, blood loss, weight loss, exhaustion, stomach cramps etc. I've been caught short a lot, had surgery for fistulas, many hospital visits etc. Luckily, I'm in remission at the moment thanks to two medications (infliximab and mercaptopurine).
Over half a million people in the UK are living with Crohn’s or Colitis. It can be isolating, embarrassing and difficult to talk about — especially when the symptoms involve bowels and💩💩💩💩. But that’s exactly why we should talk about it.
Crohn’s and Colitis UK provides vital information, support and funds research, while campaigning to raise awareness and improve lives - helping people like me every single day. So let's run 26.2 miles to raise awareness and vital funds — and maybe get a few more people comfortable chatting about Crohn’s, Colitis, bowels and poo along the way?
If you’re able to donate to help me reach my goal or share this page, I’d be hugely grateful. Every single £ will help!
Huge love,
Brad x
