In memory of Maeve Elsie Webb
Story
Balloons provided much needed support to my nephew, when his beloved little sister, Maeve, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep. Within a month of Maeve's passing, my nephew started primary school, where a Balloon's support worker was able to meet with him and provide him with the space, and time, to play and reflect. These sessions were invaluable to helping him grieve, and it is reassuring to know that he can continue to be supported by their incredible work until he reaches his mid-twenties.
Balloons is a small charity that works alongside families and professionals to support bereaved children and young people in East and Mid Devon when someone significant in their lives dies.
Every time we pick up the telephone, we take a new referral, we meet a bereaved child for the first time, and we visit a grieving family – we know it matters and we know it makes a difference.
