Story
Each July for the past few years I take part in the NKH 100 Mile Challenge to raise funds for a cure for NKH - a terminal disorder diagnosed at birth, or shortly after. And each year I walked with a little boy Mikaere (Kai) who had this cruel life limiting disease. A little boy I met back in 2017 in a physiotherapy class for disabled kids, with my own little boy.
This year is the first year I won’t be able to walk with him because Kai died last August shortly before his 8th birthday. He is flying high with our boy Ruairí, now.
This year me, Charlie and Shane are walking, running and cycling in memory of Kai, in his honour and to support the work his family continue to do through the charity set up in their boys name - The Mikaere Foundation.
It’s hard to ask for donations, but helping to raise money and awareness is one big thing that we can do, one big thing that helps our friends as they miss their boy deeply and endlessly.
So, if you can, please do donate £5, £10, £20.
Thank you ❤️
