Story
I will be taking part in this Saturday’s Big Ride for Palestine in London.
The Big Ride for Palestine is partnering with the Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA) to provide emergency aid to children and families in Palestine right now.
I’m proud to be able to join the ride against genocide and occupation and raise funds to provide life-saving aid!
I hope to raise £500* to support the ride’s ambitious fundraising goal.
"Challenge
Half the Palestinian population are children. In Gaza, they are being bombed, blockaded, and occupied. Families are on the brink of starvation. In the West Bank, Israeli attacks have also forced communities to flee their homes. More than 40,000 people are displaced, the most in decades. Israeli settler violence is on the rise and there are increasing numbers of checkpoints dividing the West Bank causing more poverty.
Solution
MECA works for the rights and well-being of children. We have been working in Palestine for 36 years. With the support of The Big Ride for Palestine, MECA and our local partners will provide food parcels, hot meals, clean drinking water, and other essential aid to families impacted by Israel's attacks across Palestine. And we will provide psychosocial support for traumatized children whenever it is possible including sports and other physical activities."
