Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Me and the boy are hiking the Tour Du Mont Blanc in August.

We will be walking 80-105 miles of the trail, which loops from Les houches in the French alps, through Italy and Switzerland, around the Mont Blanc Massif, and back, with 7-10 km of elevation gain and loss. We won't promise to complete the whole thing as plans and be scuppered by illness, injury, the weather etc, and it's a long hard hike for an 8 year old child to do, but we do promise to give it our all.

Over the year we will be training hard, with lots of mountain hikes in the Brecon Beacons and also walking the entire Ridgeway - 87 miles from Avebury in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire in one go.

This year we lost a close friend, Steve Dore, to a heart attack at only 42 yrs of age. Steve was an incredible person, generous, funny, hardworking and much loved by everyone who knew him. His family have elected to raise funds for Thames Valley Air Ambulance, a local charity that gives everybody in our community the best chance of surviving and recovering from an emergency, as well as Daisy's dream - a charity who help children who have lost a parent. Both causes are very close to their hearts.

We are also raising money for our usual charity - Reverse Rett, a brilliant charity who fund research and advocate for parents of children with Rett Syndrome, a rare disorder that afflicts mainly young girls after the age of about 2 yrs old with a debilitating and degenerative range of symptoms.

Any money you can spare for any of the charities would be hugely appreciated, even if it's only a couple of quid.
