On Wednesday, July 23rd, two Royal Marines Captains and a Royal Navy Lieutenant will each climb a 30-foot rope 100 times over the course of 10 hours—totalling 3,000 feet! This is higher than the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which stands at 2,722 feet.

This challenge will take place at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM), where Royal Marines recruits learn to climb a rope unaided as part of their initial training. Rope climbing requires a combination of technique, strength, endurance, and, most importantly, courage.

With several years of military service between them - Rob Garthland, Liam McGrath and Ollie Coombes are all determined to complete this challenge while raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity—a cause close to their hearts for the outstanding work it does.
