Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In December 2022 we tragically lost our dear friend Chris while he was out on a sheep station in New Zealand, after graduating from university just a few months prior. In his memory a group of his university friends, members of his family and friends from home are planning to ride from Harper Adams University, Shropshire, where he studied Agriculture with Farm Business Management, to Ballynahinch, his hometown in Co Down, Northern Ireland.

The route is around 250 miles, starting at Harper and heading to Holyhead, Anglesey. We will then be getting the boat to Dublin and cycle from Dublin to Ballynahinch. The ride will take place over the August bank holiday, Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th 2023.

The charity we have chosen to support, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland. The KBRT were excellent in offering their help and support to the Scurfield family during such a devastating time. Therefore, any donations that you make is greatly appreciated by us, allowing this worthwhile charity to carry on helping other families in their time of need.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
