Story
Elaine Gillian Hoggarth a much loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie and Friend. Unfortunately lost her fight to this horrendous disease after being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer just before the Covid pandemic.
Elaine loved life and the special people close to her. Nothing was too much trouble. She had that intuition to look at you and just know something was wrong but had this infectious laughter to make everything better again ... she even gave her time to volunteer for Samaritans, helping strangers who needed a listening ear ... she purely had a selfless heart of gold.
Elaine fought with an everlasting smile throughout her pain and treatment, to protect the ones close to her, until the pain became unbearable, in which she fought for another five weeks at the fabulous St Andrew's Hospice, who cared to make her comfortable in her final path and supported her loved ones, family and friends until she said good night on the 7th May
2022.
St Andrew's Hospice is a registered charity providing hospice care services for adults, children and their families who are adjusting to a life living with life limiting conditions, up to their finals days and into family bereavement support. They have been delivering palliative care for over 40 years to people across North East Lincolnshire and for 18 years to children from the whole of Lincolnshire, Hull and he East Riding of Yorkshire.
It currently cost £5.5 million a year to provide free care for everyone who needs this care and support so, in loving memory of my Auntie Elaine, I would like to give something back to the hospice, in her honour, so other families can receive the same support as we all have.
