Story
Caring at Christmas with Somebody Cares
This Christmas, no one in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire should face the heartbreaking choice between heating their home and putting food on the table.
Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, Somebody Cares provided 44,356 Christmas meals for families and individuals across the region, along with 639 gifts for children to open on Christmas morning and 107 thoughtful gifts for single parents who might otherwise have gone without.
Behind every food parcel and every gift is a real story. There's Sally, who arrived in Aberdeen seeking safety after escaping domestic abuse, alone with her baby and frightened. With food, clothing, baby essentials, and friendship from Somebody Cares, she found the strength to start building her new life.
There's Thomas, who after his relationship broke down, received a council house but had nothing to furnish it. For two weeks, he slept in his car while his children stayed with family. When he reached out to Somebody Cares, they helped furnish his home the same day, giving him beds, food, and everything he needed to bring his children home.
This year, the need is even greater. Families across the community are struggling through some of the biggest challenges they'll ever face, and Christmas can feel like an impossible burden rather than a time of joy.
Every donation makes a tangible difference:
£10 fills a Christmas Eve gift bag for a local child
£100 provides a 12-day festive food parcel and gift for a family
£1,000 can feed three families and make Christmas possible
This festive season, Somebody Cares is determined to bring comfort, dignity, and joy to those who need it most. Because in this community, no one should be forgotten at Christmas.
Your donation today will help ensure that families facing hardship wake up on Christmas morning knowing that Somebody Cares.
Thank you for showing compassion in action this Christmas.
