Story

I started running in 2017. My first race was Ludlow 10km – and although I was due to run a half marathon in 2023, I was injured and couldn’t take part. So, I’m incredibly excited to take part in the Great North Run in September for Guide Dogs.

A personal connection makes this so important to me: a friend lost her eyesight due to cancer, and guide dogs changed her life. And a neighbour of mine is a volunteer puppy raiser – a crucial role before the dogs start their training. Every day, 250 people join the two million already living with sight loss in the UK. As well as buddy dog assistance, the charity provides mobility training, education support and sighted guides.

With your help, Guide Dogs UK can continue this amazing work. Your sponsorship will keep me motivated through my training and – most importantly – help sight-impaired children and adults live active and fulfilled lives. Thank you for being a part of my journey
