Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been TALKed into doing the Ride London 100 mile cycle ride to raise money for this great charity. TALK Surrey CIO provides social and communication opportunities and support for people with aphasia in Surrey. They run weekly groups, facilitated by trained volunteers, where members can practise their communication, enjoy good company and feel included. Aphasia is a language disorder, most commonly acquired after a stroke. It affects - to varying degrees - a person's ability to speak, understand, read and write. It impacts on many everyday tasks - having a conversation, making a phone call, writing an email, filling in a form. It can lead to frustration and social isolation.

TALK members have said that coming to TALK groups helps to improve their communication and confidence and increases participation and wellbeing. Please support me by sponsoring me for this ride. I hope I'll complete the full 100 miles - I'll certainly give it a go!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
