I work in Community Health Care as a Private Carer. Many of my clients have dementia and I have supported them and their families along the the often difficult road of "living with dementia" After seeing first hand how this takes hold of someone to the point that individuals are often stripped of the ability to think for themselves, this is so much more than memory loss.

It can be a total loss of independence, as the disease progresses it takes away more and more of that person and in many cases individuals lose the ability to complete basic every day tasks and often muddle up relationships, and cannot remember their closest family members and their surroundings.

I continue my fundraising journey to raise as much money as possible to go into research. We desperately need a cure.

Since 2016 when I first started running as a complete beginner I have now ran three London Marathons, numerous half marathons, completed a Sky Dive, and whilst running I took up photography to share my stunning running routes around North Devon. My photos now go into my Charity Calendar which I have used to raise funds for ARUK for the last two years. I'm so incredibly proud to share that with the never ending support that I have, and with your help, I have now raised over £21,000! Lets keep going!!! Every penny counts.

I am delighted to join a fantastic team of runners which make up "SuesCrew" Sue better known as Strawny is our lovely running friend who lives well with Vascular dementia. She is an incredible ambassador for ARUK. A tireless campaigner and tells it as it is. Dementia is not glamorous but she has ran marathons, taken part in many television interviews, even had a tattoo and although she is not able to run a marthon now she will always be heading up the cheer squad. SuesCrew are going to do "her proud" and raise as much money and awareness as we can in her honour.
