Leslie Edwards Trust (LET) is helping to break down the barriers of hearing loss.

We provide lipreading classes to the hearing impaired in Leicestershire. This is a useful skill that enables people with hearing loss to communicate with, and live in, a hearing world.

But the classes provide so much more than that. Classes also help promote social inclusion, lessen mental health issues such as depression and even help with dementia! The classes help people build themselves a community of like-minded peers.

Hearing loss is becoming more and more common. 1 in 6 people are affected with hearing impairment. I am one of them! LET enabled me to stop isolating and meet people like me. They gave me the help and support I needed to get hearing aids when I didn't know where to start.
