Its 10 years since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a major shock, but given how unwell I felt at the time the diagnosis and subsequent insulin protocol was a welcome relief.

I adapted my life and work to the requirements of the fingerpicks and injections, and the many advancements in technology continue to help move on from that. Many people are not so able either through circumstance or age and I am I’m stepping up for Diabetes UK this summer to support people in the UK who live with diabetes, day in day out. You can too, just by making a donation.

I have taken part in Diabetes UK One Million Step Challenge since 2020, walking 1,000,000 steps between July and September each year.

In 2024 I am joining up with Hazel Dale ( in team Blues-sisters) to walk the West Highland way during the 2024 million step challenge. Hazel is stepping for the Police Treatment centres, which she and I have both benefitted from as as retired Officers still contribute to.

As we come out of the COVID years the funding catch up continues and no matter how much you can give, it will make a difference. So please donate today, to either cause.
